We offer a variety of yoga and movement based classes and even meditation classes. Classes are as low as $12.00 per class (with the 20 class pass). Additionally, we have donation based classes. Most of our donation based classes are pay what you can, but some do have a suggested minimum. See below for all of our class descriptions.
Regular Rate Classes:
Ashtanga Yoga: Ashtanga is a dynamic form of vinyasa yoga linking a series of movements with flowing breath. With consistent practice, this method becomes a moving meditation which stretches and strengthens both body and mind. In the 1-hour Ashtanga Short Form class we explore a selection of postures from the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. The sequence remains consistent so practitioners can develop deep internal focus as familiarity grows. Posture variations are offered to suit individual needs. Some prior experience with yoga or fitness is recommended.
Beginning Yoga: Have you been wanting to try yoga but just not sure what to expect of the class or of your own abilities? This Beginning Yoga course is designed to create a safe space for this exploration for those who have very little or no yoga experience. It is also suitable for students seeking a review of the basics or who simply enjoy a slow-paced, instructional practice of yoga fundamentals. The focus will be on learning foundational physical poses both on the mat and standing with emphasis on proper alignment, modifications for different bodies and abilities and uniting breath with movement. We will also explore the process of bringing stillness and quiet to the body and mind. Wait no longer to bring the beautiful practice of yoga into your life and experience its many benefits!
Yoga Basics and Beyond: The focus of this class is the review and refinement of foundational yoga poses, learning how to combining those poses into short flow sequences, and also introducing students to a variety of slightly more challenging poses using instruction and incremental steps to achieve individual success. Completion of Beginning Yoga I or having similar yoga experience is suggested. The ability to move between standing and floor work will allow for full enjoyment and benefit from this class.
Chair Yoga: A creative & supported practice using the chair for seated poses, as well as, to support standing & balancing poses as needed. We do not get down onto the floor in this class, and if student is unable to practice standing poses they are welcome to remain seated and still receive all the benefits of moving with the breath, maintaining range of motion in the joints and gently building core stability. Beginner friendly.
Chakradance: This moving meditation will gently awaken each of your seven chakras and help you to discover where your energy is flowing and also where you have blockages. Dancing through your chakra system regularly will release blocked energy and help you to feel more alive and energized. It will open you up to insights about your life, and bring balance and health to your whole system. This workshop includes creating Mandala artwork and a short guided meditation.
Feldenkrais Method: Feldenkrais uses a process of organic learning, movement, and sensing to free you from habitual patterns and allow for new patterns of thinking, moving and feeling to emerge. The lessons are easy to do, of benefit to everyone, and the results can be extraordinary. For both short term needs for pain relief, rehabilitation and recovery, and long term goals of health, vitality and flexibility. For all abilities, no experience necessary. Gentle Yoga: Explore mobility, flexibility, balance and strengthening in a gentle, self-honoring manner nourishing body and soul. This practice will include both floor work and standing movement. Chairs may be utilized for some poses and will be available for support of standing postures if needed. Other props such as bolsters and blankets will be used when helpful for support and accessibility. Class will typically close with one or two restorative, relaxing asanas. Come treat your body and mind with healing breath, gentle movement and relaxation to start your day!
Iyengar Yoga for over 50: This is an introductory class for the mature student to the Iyengar style of Hatha Yoga. The class allows students to learn at their own pace through safe progressive instruction. Poses are demonstrated and supports are offered where needed. This class will emphasize standing poses to bring awareness through alignment. Poses release stiffness, help to establish inner balance and renew energy. Emphasis on detailed instruction allows healing the body and mind through the postures.
Joys of Yoga: Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with their environment. All levels welcome for a comprehensive yet gentle class that fully engages body, mind and spirit.
Kundalini Yoga: Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness. It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your energetic body. Kundalini Yoga is a for people who have to cope with the daily challenges and stresses of holding jobs, raising families, and managing businesses. It is a path for everyone who wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of our times.
This technology precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purify the blood. It brings balance to the body, mind, and soul.' Kundalini Yoga is great for students of all levels of experience. Yoga is a personal experience and is not a competitive activity. Students focus within themselves, listening to their own bodies and working to the best of their ability.
Yoga for Energy: This is a fusion yoga class that combines Kundalini yoga inspired movements with general yoga postures to wake up your energy and strengthen your heart and nervous system. We will start by warming up the spine, enlivening all our vertebrae in a systematic manner. We will then work into some cardio intensive moves that will get your heart pumping and allow you to really tap into your own natural energy flow. Lastly, we will end with some gentle stretches and finally savasana (relaxation pose). This class is for all levels as modifications are always available. Honor yourself.
Morning Flow: This class combines a vinyasa practice that builds heat in the body through sun salutations and other standing postures with a yin practice that allows the connective tissues of the body to release. Modifications and props are always available. Some familiarity with the basic postures of yoga recommended. Ease into your day in a gentle and awake state.
Qigong: Qigong is often described as "moving meditation". A series of gentle flowing and repeated movements, stretches and breathing exercises which will allow participants to practice cultivating and increasing the life force energy in their body. When practicing qigong, we come into the present moment and tap into the universal life force energy field that flows through everything and is everything. This field is infused with health and vitality. The benefits of qigong include increasing energy and reducing stress and promoting self-healing.
Restore Yoga: At the end of the work day, restore balance with a class for all; including those working behind a computer, on a tractor, with knitting needles or swinging a hammer. We will spend time working through gentle yoga poses focusing on wrists, neck, back, shoulders, and legs as well as some longer held restorative poses. Appropriate for all levels, modifications always available.
Slow Flow Yoga: Rejuvenate body and mind in this Slow Flow Yoga class where we will mindfully breathe and move through a series of floor and standing yoga sequences. The pace starts slow and gentle on the mat to warm and loosen muscles and joints. We then move to more active, heat-building sequences with allowance for learning proper pose alignment and honoring your own body's abilities. Modifications are offered and welcome. Some yoga experience is suggested as well as a moderately active lifestyle. Join us to energize, release stress and renew!
Yin Flow Yoga: This is a great class for anyone looking to slow down, and feel ease. Yin is a restorative practice that activates the parasympathetic nervous system and relaxes the heart rate. This class will also promote healthy sleep. We will use props such as blocks, bolsters and blankets. Using breath to release tension and stiffness you will leave feeling relaxed and calm. Class is suitable for all levels.
Yoga Nidra for Stress and Relaxation: Yoga Nidra allows you to explore changing your state of consciousness and allowing yourself to look deeper internally and feel sensations, emotions, thoughts, and images through a guided meditation. This process is an integrative practice that addresses both psychological and physical issues such as stress, trauma, insomnia, and pain in your body and mind. All levels of experience welcome.
Donation Based Classes:
Candlelit Singing Bowls: It always feels like an honor to have these very old bowls, carrying so much supportive energy for our bodies and the world, enter into this studio space. Eva has a special relationship with each of her singing bowls and it’s always fascinating to hear her talk about them and then play them. This collection of antique bowls handmade by Tibetan monks, were used for centuries for healing and meditation. Eva creates an improvised, vibrational soundscape that is heard, as well as felt, awakening the body’s internal wisdom for healing, releasing stress, & relaxing deeply. Come get comfortable with available bolsters and blankets or folding chairs.
Community Yoga: This class is an offering to the community in which students may make a donation, as they are able, in exchange for the class. We hope to make yoga accessible to a wider community regardless of current financial obstacles. This is an All Levels class open to everyone. It provides a well-rounded, safe and satisfying practice for able-bodied students. If you have acute injuries this class may not be suitable.
Ecstatic Dance: Not a class, but a community free-form movement space where you can move to your inner rhythm. Music is selected to follow the "5 Rhythms", beginning slowly, building to a peak, then making it's way toward melodic and meditative to end in a space of quiet contentment. Guidelines: 1.) Move however you wish. 2.) No talking on the dance floor. 3.) Respect yourself, the space and one another. Ecstatic Dance is a drug & alcohol free space. Please also refrain from photos, video, shoes and scents. We begin and end sitting in an informal circle for optional sharing of thoughts, intentions, experiences, whatever is there to share. This is an all ages space! Children are very welcome:)
Guided Group Meditation: A guided meditation class suitable for those who have never meditated and those who have been meditating for years. Each session will begin with a review of the science and benefits of meditation. We will talk about how the brain functions and how meditation effects its functioning. We will spend 30 to 40 minutes each session in meditation, and will wrap up each session with an open discussion about the experience. Meditation is an ancient technique that has profound impacts on all aspects of our state of being. Please join us as we explore this ancient technology.
InterPlay: InterPlay is an active, creative way to unlock the wisdom of the body. It uses movement, sound, storytelling, stillness, and contact to provide a powerful forum for creative expression, self-exploration, connection, and play. Using simple incremental forms, it helps to free your body and your voice, deepen the connection with your creative self, bring breath and ease back into your life, and build awareness of the wisdom of your body, all while cultivating meaningful community connection. InterPlay is something that anybody can do—no experience is necessary. The focus is on exploration, authenticity, and enjoyable personal and group expression—all you need is a willingness to engage. Expect to laugh, savor and relax & be surprised by what you can do!
Yoga for Recovery: This class is for anyone identifying and working with any form of addiction in their lives. This is an all levels yoga class that moves at a gentle pace to give you the opportunity to show up and be more present to yourself. Offered by free will donation.
Vinyasa Flow: This Vinyasa Flow class will focus on the practice of asana while blending breath and movement through poses. This class involves more movement as the students will move through sun salutations, balancing poses and a mixture of other postures. This style of class allows students to work on both flexibility and strength before settling down into savasana at the end of class.
